Halloween tricks and treats

Well trick-or-treating is not all fun and games...there's a lot of work involved!  Work that makes you extremely tired before all of the fun even begins!
Good thing I got a little rest...it's even harder to be a cute lion...
and brother to a sparkly cheerleader!
Luckily we all got some treats!  The best of all was hanging out with my cousins (Gus and Dub) and having a laugh or two!
Can't wait until next year when mom and dad take me out again and I can trick-or-treat with the best of them!

Pumpkin Fun...

This weekend has been chock full of pumpkin fun!  It all started on Friday when Pre-K through 2nd grade headed to First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro to visit their Pumpkin Patch!  The weather was quite chilly, but the students had a blast...wish I could say the same for the teachers!

Here's the Pre-K and Kinder group listening to a few stories...
and Mere posing with a scarecrow...
Nae Nae even brought Callier by for a visit!  He didn't get to stay too long since it was chilly, but we managed to get a few pics!

Pumpkins were good for propping up!
Sunday night we made time to do a little pumpkin carving!  I'd forgotten how much fun this little activity can be (do you hint the sarcasm in my voice?!)  We did accomplish to turn out a pretty good looking pumpkin if I do say so myself!
My audience...

Can't wait to see what tricks and treats tomorrow will bring!

Ft. Worth Fun...

It was way too pretty to stay inside and do nothing today!  So, we packed up the family and a friend (who's family, too!) and headed to Ft. Worth for the day!
First on our agenda, Trinity Park to ride the train and hit the playground!
They insisted we sit up front!
Meredith and her friend and cousin, Gus.
What does that sign say???

They got SO excited about everything!  It was too funny!

He couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about!

Deep in concentration!
After the park, we headed over to the Log Cabin Village...really a neat place to visit!

Daddy and Call!
"Mere, are you sure your daddy knows what he's talking about???"
Bobbing for apples.

Pumping water.

Covington Homecoming 2011

Friday, October 14th was Homecoming for Covington ISD!  Between parades, pep rallies, tailgates, cheering and an OWL win!  It was a busy and exciting day!
Kindergarten float theme...Yes...that's an owl hitting a pinata!
Mere and her Kindergarten class before the parade.
Ready to throw candy...and maybe eat or save some!
The super cute Owl cupcake I made for the Covington ISD tailgate!
Meredith ready to cheer at the game with her Homecoming mum!
A VERY happy camper!
Callier showing off his Owl pride!
Mere and Jamie getting revved up for the big game!

Boom!  They're dynamite!

Shaking her thing!

Mmmm?!? Carrots?!?

Our little man is getting bigger every day!!!  And...getting bigger means trying new things...like food!
Callier's verdict is still out...
Hmmm?  Are you supposed to put this stuff in your mouth???

I much prefer it on my chin!

You may be my mom, but are you sure you know what you're doing?

I think I'll stick to the bottle!

Mini Cheer

The mini-cheer season for Meredith is up and going!  We are busy, busy!  Tuesdays are cheer practice...and then a game on either Thursday or Friday!  Check out our new uniform...and our new moves!

Cheering with the HS cheerleaders and "Hootie" at one of the games!

Our new uniform...it is metallic! :)

 Mere's bestest friend, Jamie!

Too funny...but we've got the makings of a good cheerleader!

 Ready?  Ok!
